  • Summer holidays

    Published 22/07/19

Young children can easily lose skills during the six-week holiday and it can take several weeks in the Autumn to relearn these.  You will be preparing your children for a great start to the year if you continue to hear them read/practise phonics; find opportunities for them to write and take on some fun maths challenges during the summer holiday.  A weekly visit to the library is free and will encourage a love of reading. Teachers always like to hear about the summer break and look at scrapbooks, records of reading or photos of maths play. This also helps them to get to know your child quickly.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the support you have given your child and the school over the last year.  It has been a joy to teach your children and see their talents grow.  Year Two have been a wonderful cohort and we wish them all the best for the future. We are very proud of them all.
